New science centre for London
A new £8.25m science events space called DANA will be open to the public from 17 November, in south west London.
Aiming to bring “the latest in contemporary science to life”, the DANA centre covers 33,921sq ft, has been designed by McCormack Jamieson Pritchard Architects and incorporates a bar, restaurant, art gallery and stage space.
DANA will be utilising digital technology combined with art, performance and talk from cutting-edge guest speakers. Both web streaming and globally interactive web events will also be utilised to try and deliver a “truly original” science centre experience”.
The centre will be located within the Wellcome Wolfson building in South Kensington, behind London’s Science Museum. Details: www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/danacentre
