New venture sets sail in Lochwinnoch
Local clubs and operators in Lochwinnoch, in Renfrewshire have joined together to promote sailing activities on Castle Semple Loch.
The launch of the initiative, called SAIL (Sailing Access in Lochwinnoch) takes place on Sunday 30 April with a number of low-cost activities, including windsurfing and special needs trimaran dinghies, to try between 10am and 4.30pm.
SAIL is the collective name for a group which includes three local clubs, the Outdoor Activity Centre (run by ASVA member, Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park) and the Royal Yachting Association.
On 30 April, Clyde Windsurfing Club will run windsurfing taster courses for £6 and Castle Semple Sailing Club will provide tasters for £3 in a variety of sailing dinghies.

Also running on the day, with the opportunity for a free lesson, is a competition to design a logo for SAIL.
The RYA will be on hand with advice and information on sailing, windsurfing and power boating. outdoor activity instructors at Castle Semple will provide rescue cover. For more information, go to www.ryascotland.org.uk
