New £1m football facility opens in Leicester
A new £1m football facility has been officially unveiled at Leicester's Hamilton Park, which forms part of the city's wider £11.2m strategy to enhance grassroots provision.
The new pavilion, located off Sandhills Avenue, offers a new clubhouse with four changing rooms; officials' changing area; a club room; office space; and a reception area.
Leicester City Council (LCC) is behind the Football Investment Strategy, which will see the upgrade of 11 sites across the city to provide improved facilities for footballers.
The Football Foundation awarded one of its largest-ever grants in support of the initiative, while NHS Leicester City, Sport England, local partner clubs and the UEFA Jubilee Fund have also contributed.
