Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Sports Partnership director appointed
Simon Starr has been appointed as director of the newly-formed Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Sports Partnership.
Starr joins the partnership – which is one of 49 County Sports Partnerships (CSPs) across the country – from South Holland District Council, where he was head of leisure and tourism.
Starr said: "I'm seeking to work strategically, helping to co-ordinate the work of the community, education, sports and health sectors across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, leading to a more streamlined delivery mechanism for sport."
Anne Rippon, interim regional director of Sport England East Midlands, added: "Sport England is working to ensure that we have an effective and efficient system in the region and CSPs are the cornerstone of this system.
"Simon's appointment moves the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Sports Partnership a significant step forward."
