Nuneaton opens outdoor pool
Pingles Leisure Centre in Nuneaton has today opened its heated, all weather outdoor pool.
The pool will be open regardless of the weather, with the exception of electrical storms.
David Leetham, chair of the Leisure Trust behind the development, said: “This is a new experience for the residents of the boroughs of Nuneaton and Bedworth. It offers a chance to swim outside all year round and we look forward to the facilities becoming popular over the next few months.”
The grand opening of the outdoor pool was scheduled to coincide with the half term holidays of schools.
Tony Lloyd, spokesman for the project, said: “I am pleased we have been able to get the pool open in time for the half-term. I am sure both children and adults will enjoy the outdoor experience.”
Pingles Leisure Centre opened in August 2003 after a £7m investment. Details: www.nuneatonandbedworth.gov.uk
