Nutritionist and former GB athlete team up for new GL diet book
Nutrition expert Patrick Holford and former GB athlete Kate Staples have released a book called Burn Fat Fast.
Patrick Holford, who has written more than 30 books about food, now writes about an alternate day low glycemic load (GL) eating plan.
He said: “By eating both low GL and less every other day you can switch on your 'skinny’ genes and burn fat fast.”
Kate Staples, former record breaking GB pole vaulter and 'Zodiac' from TV show Gladiators, has established Adventure Training Camps with double Olympic champion Daley Thompson. She has developed a weekly series of exercises for the diet, based on short, sharp interval training.
She said: “Eight minute strength training workouts are punctuated by 30 mins of cardio every second day. No equipment is required except for some small weights.”
