A high performance coach who has worked with Olympic athletes has launched a new personal training and injury rehabilitation studio in Swiss Cottage, North London.

Joel Proskewitz is the owner of the new 2,600sq ft (242sq m) Performance Rx studio, which opened for business at the beginning of July. Proskewitz has worked in the health and fitness industry for more than 20 years and previously trained the South African bronze medal winning Olympic rowing team and the South African national karate team.

The veteran coach – who specialises in strength and conditioning, rehabilitation and sport-specific training – will be working with a wide-range of private clients, targeting weight loss, improved sports performance and injury rehabilitation.

Cybex led the fit-out of the new facility, providing Cybex Bravo Functional Trainers, Jungle Gym, 625T treadmills and a plate-loaded kneeling leg curl. Other suppliers include LeMond, Schwinn and Jordan Fitness, which provided functional training equipment.

Commenting on the fit-out, Proskewitz said: “I’ve been extremely impressed by Cybex’s equipment over the years and there really is nothing else on the market like it.

“The research and attention to detail that goes into each individual piece is unrivalled and its biomechanically-correct design means that I can incorporate the equipment into programmes for all of my clients; regardless of their training ability, goal or injury.”
