POPiN begins US expansion with seven new clubs
Seven New York health clubs have been added to the fitness app POPiN, offering city-dwellers a wider variety of gyms to visit.
The app, which launched in the city in August, now has 11 gyms on its platform, allowing its 4,000 customers to access membership-only fitness clubs but only pay for the time used.
Customers check in at a club’s front desk via the app and when their workout is complete they scan out at reception to automatically pay at a charge of 16 cents (£0.12, €0.14) per minute.
The seven clubs that have been added to the platform are Limelight Fitness, GYM NYC, Tribeca Health and Fitness, Boss NYC, Green Fitness Studio, Body Elite Health and Fitness Center and Sixty Les – the first hotel available via the app.
“With eleven gyms in New York City, we're excited to give people unprecedented access to fitness options,” said co-founder and chief executive Dalton Han.
“This is only the start of our plan to become the largest gym in New York City, and eventually the nation.”
