Pick Everard to work on grassroots scheme
Design and project management firm Pick Everard has been appointed by Sport England to provide procurement support as part of a new £135m grassroots participation scheme.
The company will work with the funding agency on the Places People Play programme in a bid to help meet Olympic and Paralympic legacy goals from the London Games. Sports clubs, community groups and volunteer organisations will be given the chance to bid for funding towards the modernisation or expansion of facilities to help boost participation.
Pick Everard will be tasked with developing a number of national framework deals that will guide the appointment of specialist contractors to deliver the schemes. Working with Sport England staff, the firm ensure the future needs for more than 40 sports will be catered for as part of Places People Play going forward.
Pick Everard partner Rod Burton said: "The aim is to get the new framework agreements in place by the summer. "Staff from our London, Leicester and Taunton offices with relevant specialist expertise will be involved to develop appropriate agreements."
