Planning application for Dome site to be submitted by Christmas Quintain Estates has revealed that Meridian Delta - the joint venture formed with Lend Lease to acquire the Greenwich Peninsular site on which the Millennium Dome sits - expects to submit a planning application before Christmas.

Although Quintain says that details must remain confidential, the application is expected to be for in excess of 12m sq ft of mixed-use development.

In August, Quintain purchased Wembley Ltd for £48m and is currently preparing a planning application for a mixed-use development, which should be ready for submission late 2003.

The site consists of 44 acres of land and 1m sq ft of buildings - including Wembley Arena, conference centre and exhibition halls.
