Plans for new-look Stretford park unveiled
Pupils at Stretford Grammar School in Greater Manchester have revealed plans for an overhaul of Longford Park, which secured £50,000 from the Big Lottery Fund.
The project was awarded funding as part of the People's Million Granada Television competition and is being led by the school, Friends of Longford Park and Trafford Council. Councillor John Reilly said: "The pupils have captured the heart and soul of the gardens, making sure key planting and structural elements that reflect its past are included.
"But much more than that, they have thought carefully before selecting planting which reflect today's challenges, such as climate change and biodiversity loss."
