Trade show and conference, Elevate, is expanding to India next year, with an event scheduled for Mumbai on the 27 and 28 February. Elevate is owned by Quartz Sequoia Events.

The UK Elevate team is working in collaboration with India Active and Inter Rads Exhibitions to bring the event to fruition. Elevate India will be one of the first B2B events dedicated to the fitness sector in India, supporting a rapidly developing industry with an exhibition and two education theatres.

Samir Kapoor, president of India Active, welcomes the development, saying: “This will be a game changer for the industry and we look forward to this one-of-a-kind event where the best suppliers and buyers in the industry will be found under one roof.”

Last month saw the seventh Elevate take place in London. More than 6,000 visitors travelled to ExCeL – a 15 per cent increase in attendance – to see more than 200 speakers and visit the exhibition.

One of the highlights was a live recording of the Game Changers podcast with Sue Antiss and CIMSPA CEO, Tara Dillon, exploring themes of female leadership and career progression within the physical activity sector.

Equity, diversity, and inclusion was also on the programme, with the launch of the Leading the Way to Inclusion survey by Europe Active and RISE. This DEI report sets benchmarks for fostering inclusivity within the sector and provides insights and strategies for industry leaders.

Elevate 2024 also introduced a Sustainability Trends Report, created in partnership with 4Good, which highlights the latest trends and practices for a greener future.

Speaking about this year's event, Lucy Findlay-Beale, event director of Elevate, said: "Our key objective in building and developing Elevate has always been for the show to be the catalyst for a thriving and united physical activity and fitness sector. Through the innovation on the show floor and the education in the conference, visitors leave Elevate with the tools to drive progress, ignite business growth and raise the importance and standard of physical and mental health."

Elevate returns to ExCeL London next year on 18-19 June. Greater emphasis will be given to sport and outdoor activities, following the launch of the Active Kids and Active Aquatics theatres this year. It will also have a more targeted approach to the health agenda, working with key players to continue to bridge the gap between physical activity, health and longevity.
