RGA helps Aberdeen plot its cultural future
ASVA member, RGA Consulting, has been appointed to examine current cultural activity in Aberdeen and determine how the needs of artists, arts organisations and audiences are likely to change in the future.
The firm is working with Malcolm Fraser Architects to review current artistic facilities and judge whether they are suitable for future requirements.
The outcome of this research stage will allow RGA to describe a new cultural centre for the city, and to plan how it might look and operate.
The new cultural centre is just one of a number of developments being progressed by the city council with its partners.
The project needs to consider what the cultural climate will be like in 20 years’ time.
RGA’s work has included consulting with a range of organisations and individuals, getting insights, opinions as well as hopes for the future.
The research phase is due for completion soon. The feasibility and initial design study will be used to inform the fundraising process, as an advocacy tool to raise awareness of the next stage of development and to assist the design and planning process.
