The Edinburgh International Climbing Arena (EICA) in Ratho, Scotland, has completely reopened following a £6m revamp.
The centre, operated by Edinburgh Leisure, boasts a 2,400sq m (25,830sq ft) indoor climbing arena featuring three climbing walls with more than 200 routes, an aerial assault course and a bouldering room. The 1,600-capacity arena could also host music concerts.
A climbing-inspired indoor children’s play area, gym, spa with spa bath, steam room and sauna, as well as a shop and café have now been added.
The City of Edinburgh Council funded the project, which was designed by David Taylor, following the centre’s demise into administration in 2005.
