RedBamboo Medi Spa in Clearwater, Florida, US, has launched a new DNA Analysis Panel to allow guests to see if they are at risk from one of 25 medical conditions.

The service aims to help customers see if they will be more, less or just as likely to develop a number of complaints, such as heart disease, diabetes or breast cancer. Spa specialists will then explain how genetic and environmental factors contribute, which is designed to help guests make lifestyle alterations to negate the risk.

A spa spokesperson said: "For example, someone with the genetic marker for colon cancer may schedule a first colonoscopy at an earlier age and may get them more frequently. "If you or your spouse has heart disease, you may want to schedule a DNA analysis for your children to see if they have a genetic predisposition, as well. That could lead them to eat differently, exercise differently, and schedule cholesterol screenings earlier."
