Refurbished athletics track unveiled in Rugby
David Moorcroft, the former 5,000m world record holder, has officially unveiled a new-look athletics facility in Rugby, Warwickshire.
A public opening event was held on 2 April to mark the re-launch of Rugby Athletics Track, which has been upgraded by the local authority. Rugby Borough Council (RBC) worked alongside Rugby and Northampton Athletics Club and the Cemex Benevolent Fund on the scheme.
RBC portfolio holder for economy, development and culture Heather Timms said: "The newly refurbished running track is a tremendous new facility, and I'm looking forward to welcoming some truly world-class athletes to Rugby to reopen it for us."
