Rigs Recovery, an operator of contrast therapy-focused sports recovery centres in Australia has opened its third and largest location in Currumbin on the outskirts of Gold Coast in Queensland.

Ayres Consultancy, a boutique management consultancy, worked with Rigs Recovery to scale and deliver the new 344sq m site. The two existing centres are in Gold Coast’s suburbs, Palm Beach (measuring 184sq m) and Bundall (ranging 232sq m).

A representative from Ayres told Spa Business and HCM that Rigs wanted to ensure the longevity of the centres, ensuring the latest location would deliver the most cutting-edge and comprehensive experiences for guests.

The centre in Currumbin has been designed by Leila Macaione and her firm Studio LMD and built by Favro Group. The space is mainly occupied by plunge pools of different temperatures with varying concentrations of magnesium. These contrast therapy pools have been supplied by Plungie and installed by Brauer Industries.

There are also hot rock and infrared saunas, provided by Crafted Saunas.

The centre offers physiotherapy and osteopathic treatments in addition to leg compression, LED light therapies, flotation tank sessions and there is an IV Drip room.

Some therapies offered at the other two locations include hyperbaric oxygen therapy and full-body cryotherapy.

Ryan Ayres, MD, Ayres Consulting, said: “It was a privilege to be involved in this project. Knowing it will support and benefit the community in their recovery journeys made it especially meaningful for me.

“This facility will also serve as a cornerstone for Rigs Recovery’s future expansion, acting as the central hub in the southern Gold Coast with several additional centres planned in the near future,” Ayres continued.
