Rockliffe Hall Spa will offer hotel guests DIY treatment toolkits with virtual tutorials during spa’s closure

Rockliffe Hall Spa is preparing to provide in-room wellness treatment experiences for hotel guests while the spa remains closed due to the COVID pandemic.
The spa team at Rockliffe Hall Hotel, in Durham, UK, has created in-room treatment kits with DIY video tutorials to allow guests to perform treatments from the comfort of their guest room.
UK hotels have been given the green light to reopen by the government on 4 July while spas have been instructed to remain closed.
Guests will be able to choose from two different spa kits – Facial in a box or Deluxe Spa in a box – both of which will be sent to guest’s rooms along with a video tutorial where a spa expert will guide guests on how to use each product to create their own spa experience.
Costing £42 (US$52, €47), the Facial in a box kit is suitable for all skin types and is designed to deliver dewy radiant skin using a range of Caudalie products, including its Instant foaming cleanser, Beauty Elixir, Gentle Buffing Cream Exfoliator and Instant Detox Mask, as well as three samples of Caudalie’s Premier Cru range – The Serum, The Rich Cream and The Eye Cream.
The Deluxe kit is designed to facilitate an in-room relaxation space and includes hand balm, pillow mist, bath foam and a candle from aromatherapy specialists, Neom. The package also features a Comfort Zone sheet mask and hand and foot care samples, as well as a Davines hair mask. The deluxe in-room spa kit is priced at £97 (US$120, €106).
Although Rockliffe’s spa remains closed it is provisionally accepting Spa Day and Treatment bookings from 1 August subject to the latest government guidelines.
The hotel management is closely following all developments and is working closely with professional bodies including the UK Spa Association.
Jason Adams, Rockliffe Hall’s MD, said: “While the hotel has been closed we’ve made the best use of the time of those who haven’t been furloughed – we’ve come up with innovative new ways to make sure our guests still get the luxury service they’d expect when the hotel re-opens, in very different circumstances to what any of us are used to.
“Of course, we’ve also introduced rigorous protocols to ensure everyone stays safe, but under our team’s PPE you can rest assured you’ll enjoy the usual first-class Rockliffe hospitality.”
