Roger Black leads all-star cast for SDW’s National Sports Conference
Olympian Roger Black will be ‘inspiring the Olympic generation’, and representatives from some of the UK’s leading sports industry organisations will be presenting sessions at the National Sports Conference taking place alongside Sports Development Week and Leisure Industry Week at the Birmingham NEC from 23-25 September.
With keynote events covering ‘Future destinations – a Vision for Sport in England’, ‘Creating Culture Change Through Partnerships’ and ‘The Power of Events’, the National Sports Conference - Meeting the 2012 Challenge - will focus on all the key issues for all stakeholders responsible for delivering on the sport participation, infrastructure and performance agendas.
In addition, there will be a focused case study presentation (on Thursday September 25) showing how Birmingham uses sporting events to globally promote the city, plus a series of workshops covering community coaching, street games, bridging the skills gap, delivering community sport, planning for better health, the Urban Beach tour, and recruiting and training volunteers.
The National Sports Conference – Meeting the 2012 Challenge, is just one aspect of a number of special feature areas and a comprehensive education programme of more than 100 sessions planned for Sports Development Week and Leisure Industry Week.
