SHOKK opens 100th kids gym
SHOKK, the youth fitness brand, has opened its 100th UK facility at the Carter Community School in Poole, Dorset.
The fully equipped gym, which was largely paid for by the Youth Opportunity Fund, is available to pupils during PE lessons, at lunchtimes and after school.
The gym, which boasts cardiovascular and resistance equipment, is built specifically for 8 to 16-year-olds and is located on the school grounds.
Sean McCrory, school and community manager at Carter, said: “Educating young people to appreciate the importance of regular physical activity and healthy eating is the only way we will tackle the growing obesity issue facing the country.
“Opening a youth specific gym in the grounds of a school removes the barriers as the children are already comfortable in their environment. I’m really excited about the opportunities this facility now offers.”
