SLM introduces mandatory NVQs
Hinckley, Leicestershire-based management contractor, Sports and Leisure Management (SLM) is to launch mandatory work-based training for all its staff.
Any employee working more than 20 hours a week at any of its 44 sites will be enrolled on one of five NVQs covering fitness, operational support, operational development, membership sales and customer sales.
The courses will be delivered by training provider Lifetime and are aimed at improving the personal development of employees as well as improving the performance of the company as a whole.
Dave Monkhouse, SLM’s group customer services manager, said: “Our decision to roll out NVQ training for all our employees is part of a wider focus on the ongoing training and development of our teams.
“A skills audit at the beginning of the year enabled us to establish the attributes required for each position and carefully mapped training will be the most effective way of closing any skills gaps.” Details: www.slm-ltd.co.uk
