It’s about elevating our industry through education and empowerment

Spa Well has launched a CIBTAC-endorsed course to provide spa leaders with financial and commercial skills.

Spa Well is an organisation founded by Sara Young, which is dedicated to nurturing talent within the spa industry to provide spa managers with key skills and opportunities for progression.

Spa Well is an online educational community platform with an app. Members can attend exclusive meetups, webinars and access a resource library and business directory.

Ten spa managers from across the Champneys Group are the first to sign up to the programme.

Young told Spa Business: "When I created Spa Well, I always envisioned it as a space for education and insight – a place that would empower spa professionals to grow beyond operations and step into the commercial conversation.

“I've heard how brilliant spa managers are being held back simply because they don't have access to the same commercial training as their hotel peers,” added Young. “This course marks the first step in taking that vision to the next level, it bridges the gap by giving them the language, confidence and commercial understanding to operate as true business leaders. It’s about elevating our industry through education and empowerment."

"I couldn’t be prouder that Champneys – one of the UK’s most respected spa brands – is part of our launch cohort, championing the next generation of commercially confident spa leaders," said Young.

The course

The Foundation in Spa Revenue Management and Financial Strategy is an 11-module online course that comes with two hours of one-on-one coaching with Young herself.

The course will provide spa managers with the skills they need to step into leadership roles.

These modules will cover the management of multiple revenue streams, interpretation and presentation of a profit and loss statement, leading teams with commercial accountability and delivering results that align with hotel and group targets.

The programme is designed for spa managers without formal financial training, heads of department stepping into commercial roles, experienced operators and hotel groups.

The cost of the course is £795 (US$1,000, €918) + VAT per participant. Learn more about the course here.
