Science-based Avatar exhibition kicks off world tour in Taipei, Taiwan
Avatar: Discover Pandora, a travelling exhibition based on the James Cameron-directed 3D movie, starts its global tour with a three-month stint in Taipei, Taiwan.
Opening on 7 December, Avatar: Discover Pandora takes a scientific and technological look at Pandora and its inhabitants, the Na’vi. The 12,000sq ft experience invites visitors to learn about the language, culture and music of the blue beings, as well as learn more about banshees, direhorses and viperwolves and other creatures. Guests will also have the opportunity to learn about space travel, Pandora’s solar system and its flora and fauna in relation to Earth’s own environment.
Produced by GES, the live events company behind a touring Harry Potter exhibition, Avatar: Discover Pandora features state-of-the-art audiovisual and interactive experiences – coming in the run up to the December 2018 release of the sequel, Avatar 2.
The Taipei debut will take place at the Xinyi Theatre located in the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store.
“GES is absolutely thrilled to give Taiwanese fans of Avatar the world’s first opportunity to explore Pandora in a real-life setting through our newest touring exhibition,” said Steve Moster, CEO at Viad Corp, GES’s parent company. “Visitors will truly be amazed by the wonders of Pandora, and we are proud to premiere this state-of-the-art exhibit in the Asia-Pacific market.”
GES worked in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox, while Zanim8tion and AV Stumpfl managed the audiovisual technology.
