The FIFA U-17 World Cup 2009 is a showcase for the world's most promising young footballing talent, with 24 teams battling it out over eight match venues in the host nation of Nigeria.

UK sports equipment manufacturer Harrod UK Ltd are delighted to have been invited to showcase their own latest talent, after being called upon to supply goal posts and team shelters to the event.

A total of 50 sets of Wembley specification football goals, net supports and nets were flown to Nigeria for the event, along with 40 team shelters for the substitutes and 20 officials' shelters, all of which were from the Premier Curved Aluminium Shelter range, the company's most recent addition to its extensive product portfolio.

Sales and Marketing Manager Kevin Utton explained: "We were thrilled to be asked to supply the event. To be able to launch our new team shelter range at such a prestigious event on the international stage is a fantastic achievement for our entire staff. Tight deadlines were involved in meeting the delivery requirements, and it is testament to the dedication of our workforce that the order was fulfilled quickly and successfully."

The U-17 FIFA World Cup is the latest in a chain of international success stories for the company, whose equipment can be found at venues such as Wembley Stadium, Dubai Sports City, Etihad Stadium in Melbourne and Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid.
