Sheraton Grand to be revamped
The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh is set to undergo a multi-million pound refurbishment as part of its 25th birthday celebrations.
All of the hotels bedrooms and suites will be redesigned and more rooms will be created, increasing the hotel's bedroom count to 268.
A new, opulent Grand Suite will also be added as part of a new, exclusive Club floor on the top floor of the hotel. The Club floor will provide guests with an enhanced level of service and a "hotel within a hotel" concept.
The refurbishment began earlier this month (January 2010) and the work will be undertaken in two phases, in two separate wings of the hotel as part of efforts to minimise disruption to guests.
The first phase will be completed by April, with all rooms completed by July 2010.
The design of the Sheraton Grand's new rooms has been undertaken by interior designers MKV Design, which also designed the interiors at the Blue Palace Resort & Spa, Crete, as well as the Palmerston Elea Golf Club in Cyprus.
Scottish-based Ogilvie Construction is the main contractor and the project manager is Currie & Brown.
General manager, J. P. Kavanagh, said: "It is time to completely improve and enhance the rooms' product with this sizeable investment.
The hotel is owned and operated by US-based Sheraton Hotels & Resorts.More News
