Six Flags parks to launch 'reverse ride'
Two Six Flags amusement parks in the US have teamed up with Warner Bros Consumer Products and DC Entertainment for the launch of the new Mr Freeze: Reverse Blast experience.
Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas, and Six Flags St Louis in Eureka, Missouri, are reversing existing rides inspired by the arch rival of the DC Comics character, Batman.
The new experience will see riders transported backwards through a 190ft (58m) tunnel into a 180-degree inversion, before being suspended more than 200ft (61m) in the air.
Mr Freeze: Reverse Blast is scheduled to open at both parks in May. Six Flags Over Texas is already open for its 2012 season, while its St Louis counterpart opens on 6 April.
Six Flags chief operating officer Al Weber said: "Reversing the direction of the trains on two of our most popular coasters is a fun twist on the ride experience.
"Mr Freeze: Reverse Blast demonstrates Six Flags' commitment to continually push the envelope and deliver new and innovative thrills to our guests."
