SkillsActive launches Playwork Survey
SkillsActive has launched its Playwork People Survey 2007 – the largest dedicated survey of the playwork workforce.
The survey analyses the skills and qualifications of full, part-time and self-employed workers in the sector by assembling data on salaries, terms and conditions in the work place, job satisfaction, training needs and career progression.
The Playwork People Survey comprises two questionnaires – one for those employed in playwork and another for those involved in recruitment only.
SkillsActive will announce the results in May.
Paul Bonel, playwork unit director at SkillsActive, said: “This survey provides vital information about our sector and data about the playwork workforce that we would not otherwise be able to access. It is an invaluable source of information which we can draw on time and again and share with the sector to help us to support the needs of the playwork workforce in terms of qualifications and training.”
This is the third year that the Playwork People Survey and the results of previous surveys contributed to the development of the UK strategy for playwork education and training – Quality Training, Quality Play 2006–2011 the Sector Skills Agreement. Details: www.skillsactive.com
