The new 3,230sq ft (300sq m) spa at the InterContinental Hotel on Park Lane in London, in the UK, has just opened.

Spa InterContinental is part of a larger £60m (US$111m, 87m euro) refurbishment project at the hotel and was created by London-based architects RDD. It was developed in collaboration with UK skincare company Elemis, which is owned by spa operator Steiner Leisure.

Catering for both hotel guests and day spa visitors, the spa features five standard treatment rooms and a VIP suite with a separate entrance.

Other facilities include a steam temple with hydrotherapy showers, a dry floatation room, a rasul and a 1,400sq ft (130sq m) gym equipped by Life Fitness.

Treatments will be offered from Elemis and La Thérapie – another product line created by Steiner Leisure.

Now called the InterContinental London Park Lane, the hotel comprises 470 guest rooms. It opened to the public in March 2007.
