Special AALARA Meeting
The board of AALARA INC. has called a Special Meeting to be held at 1.00pm on TUESDAY 13TH MAY at Conrad Jupiters Hotel to propose an important amendment to the AALARA Constitution.
We invite all financial members of the Association to attend.
This amendment relates to the quorum requirements necessary for AALARA to conduct any meeting of the organization, including the Annual General Meeting.
At present our Constitution stipulates that to form a quorum we require 25% of our membership to be present. As our membership is increasing, and members are spread throughout Australia, this 25% quorum stipulation has become too inflexible for our requirements.
Therefore, after considerable discussion within the Board it has been decided to put the following ‘amendment to the Constitution’, to the members at a Special Meeting to deal with this situation.
That clause 4(a) of Article 7 of the constitution is amended to read, “that a quorum shall consist of 22 financial members, and 3 members of the Executive Committee at any general meeting of the Association”.
That Clause 4(b) of Article 7 of the constitution is amended to read, “that a quorum of the Board shall consist of five members of the board at any board meeting”.
If you are not attending the conference and would like to cast your vote, please complete the attached PROXY VOTING FORM and fax back to the AALARA office on 07 3807 0931.
