Sporta re-elects board for fourth term
The Sports and Recreation Trust Association (sporta) has re-elected its executive committee for an unprecedented fourth term.
The committee, voted back in during the sporta AGM, comprises chair Craig McAteer from Link4Life; vice chair Jon Argent from Halo Leisure; treasurer Mark Sesnan from Greenwich Leisure; and honorary secretary Adrian Bailey from Barnsley Premiere Leisure.
Six regional representatives were also voted in place by members attending the AGM.
The only change to the executive board is the replacement of Edinburgh Leisure's Keith Jackson, who is retiring, with Borders Sport and Leisure Trust Ewan Jackson.
Craig McAteer, chair of sporta said: "We would like to wish Keith all the best in his retirement from Edinburgh Leisure and therefore his role with sporta.
<> Keith's experience has been invaluable during his two years on the sporta board."Ewan Jackson, chief executive at Borders Sport and Leisure Trust added: "I am delighted to have been elected to represent the Scottish Region on the sporta board.
"I am looking forward to working with the team to deliver sporta's national and regional objectives and hope my experience in sport and leisure services across the private, public and commercial sectors will be a valuable addition to the board's wide experience and knowledge."
Sporta represents 109 leisure and cultural trusts across the UK. Its members manage more than 920 sites on behalf of local authorities, have a combined annual turnover of more than £625m and attract more than 210 million visitors each year.
