A new multi-million pound mixed-use development - St Catherine's Walk - has opened its doors to the public in the heart of Carmarthen, South Wales.

Invista Real Estate and Simons Development worked in partnership with Carmarthenshire County Council on the scheme, which boasts a 1,000-seat Apollo Cinema and restaurants. The scheme has also seen 245,000sq ft (22,761sq m) of retail space created for the town, and it is hoped that the new complex will help generate additional income for the local economy.

Simons' senior project manager June Harvey said: "It's almost eight years to the day since we first sat down and discussed the scheme with the council, and we're delighted to have reached this stage. "We've overcome some significant challenges, not to mention difficult weather conditions along the way, and it's great to see it coming to life."

DTZ, imetcalfe and co and Jones Lang LaSalle have all acted as letting agents on the scheme.
