The sense of community and support was incredibly powerful

Mexico'>Mexico will be the host location for the 2023 iteration of industry event Synergy - The Retreat Show from 24-27 October 2023.

The conference venue will be Palmaïa The House of AIA, a progressive spa and wellness resort nestled between a white sand beach and the jungle in the Mayan Riviera. The destination is complete with a jungle-inspired spa, 234 suites and a selection of swim-up villas and restaurants serving nourishing plant-based cuisine.

The resort operates with a philosophy grounded in sustainability and a desire to reconnect guests to nature, themselves and others.

Wellness therapies and spa treatments at Palmaïa include a traditional temazcal ceremony, biomagnetism therapy, sound healing, gong baths and dance therapies, in addition to cacao ceremonies, art classes, Tai Chi, shamanic talks and gratitude rituals.

The venue and location announcement follows the success of the inaugural Synergy show at Ca Na Xica in Ibiza, Spain, in October 2022.

The conference brought together 250 travel and wellness industry insiders ranging from luxury property owners, wellness suppliers and retreat leaders to architects, designers, media and spa consultants.

Participants attended talks and workshops from over 50 wellness specialists and practitioners, including industry pioneers such as Andrew Gibson, international wellness and hospitality specialist, and Anna Bjurstam strategic advisor and wellness pioneer for Six Senses and Raison d’Etre.

Each delegate received a personal itinerary with over 30 pre-set business meetings plus a suite of networking opportunities. Wellness workshops were also dispersed throughout the programme, including breathwork classes, yoga, dance and active movement sessions and sound baths.

Synergy founder, Laura Montesanti, said: "Our first show was a great success, with so many wonderful souls coming together from different walks of life with one unique goal: to make this world a better place through wellness travel experiences, using the power of holistic practices to help people heal.

“The sense of community and support was not only unique but incredibly powerful. Our attendees left feeling inspired and more charged, knowing there is such a beautiful community behind them.’’

The Synergy team says next year’s show will centre around responsible wellbeing, wellness trends and slow travel.

Registration for 2023 is now open with a 10 per cent discount for those who book before 31 January 2023.
