Tabernacle opens in east London
Tabernacle, a new bar and restaurant, has opened in London’s Shoreditch area.
Designed in collaboration with Benjamin Summers of Red Jacket with lighting in the three main spaces by Into Lighting Design, Tabernacle covers 6,500sq ft and is situated in an original Victorian warehouse.
The combined DJ bar and restaurant consists of a ground floor bar, a large, late-night lounge bar in the basement and a 60-cover eating space on the ground floor.
The restaurant boasts a modern Italian menu, created by head chef, Ian Graham, while the cocktail list has been devised by Angus Winchester, previously of New York’s Embassy bar.
The basement bar of the Tabernacle combines high ceilings with intimate booths and a late licence at weekends.
Sundays will host a movie club featuring classic films and new, pre-release specials while the music playlist has been overseen by Mat Anthony and Pete Herbert, of Fabric, 333 and Notting Hill Arts Club fame.
