Thanet wins FIA Award for Excellence for second year running
Thanet Leisureforce has won the FIA’s Award for Excellence for its Commit to Get Fit Campaign for the second year running.
The awards recognise the work done by public and private sector health and fitness facilities in encouraging more people to take up exercise.
Thanet Leisureforce operations manager, Warren Reeves, said: “This is another great reward for the team and again puts Thanet on the map. Last year was the first time that a local leisure operator was recognised as being up there with the best and now with the Award for Excellence in 2005 we can demonstrate that Thanet Leisureforce can deliver good quality operations.
“Not only did we beat off tough competition and run the most successful campaign to date but also our fundraising efforts made up more than 20 per cent of the national fundraising total, with more than £6,000 going to The Cystic Fibrosis Trust from Thanet. We also got more than 700 people involved in changing their lifestyles and becoming more active.”
