This development will mean more courses and more people enjoying fulfilling careers not just in the UK but internationally
– Andrew Powell

The Training Room has signed a partnership deal with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) which will result in the duo launching an international fitness training platform.

As part of the deal, The Training Room will leverage TCS's iON Digital Learning Hub to provide a platform for students seeking skills and technical courses.

TCS iON will provide the backbone for delivering skills in a ‘Phygital model’, where trainers and physical classrooms are combined with digital technology to give students access to educational content anywhere, any time, and on any device.

Training Room's courses will be rolled out on the new platform, starting with health and fitness and personal training courses, followed by IT courses. The platform will also host content from other educational and professional institutions.

As well as training, the platform will aim to offer services for fitness professionals at all stages of their career – from aptitude tests, discussion groups and access to mentors to careers advice, CPD and social networks.

“Our mission is to help young and unemployed people develop skills, connect with employers and grow their careers," said Andrew Powell, CEO of The Training Room, said.

"Until now, we’ve been training some 4,000 young people a year and providing them with one-on-one careers mentoring to get them into jobs with our network of blue-chip corporate partners across the UK.

"TCS iON’s extraordinary technology will deliver a step-change in our skills development programme: more courses, more connections, and more people enjoying fulfilling careers not just in the UK but internationally.”

TCS – part of the India-based multinational conglomerate Tata Group – is an IT services, consulting and business solutions organization with more than 394,000 consultants in 46 countries.

Venguswamy Ramaswamy, global head of TCS iON, added: “We believe there’s an abundance of talent in the world, but too often there’s a lack of access to the right kind of training to nurture that talent.

"TCS iON’s Digital Learning platform helps people to train and find jobs and once they are in those jobs, it allows businesses to provide continual development opportunities that are engaging, accessible and inclusive."
