Titanic on display in South Kensington
Titanic: The Artefact Exhibition has opened at London's Science Museum and will run until 28 September 2003.
More than 200 items raised from the liner will be on display, including a 2..5 ton section of its hull, the original ships bell, White Star line china and passengers personal effects.The exhibition takes the form of galleries, covering such subjects as the vessel's construction, life on board and the subsequent discovery of the wreck on the bed of the Atlantic Ocean.
In conjunction with the exhibition, visitors will be able to see Ghosts of the Abyss, a film directed by James Cameron and showing the story of a crew of diving experts as they see Titanic for the first time.The film is showing in the Science Museum IMAX Cinema and features digital surround sound and 3D imagery.
