Leisure trust and social enterprise Tone has announced a new partnership with personal training management company Your PT, which will facilitate the expansion of Tone's personal training services.

From June 2011, Your PT will provide personal trainers in five of Tone's leisure facilities across Devon and Somerset. The trainers will offer free advice and inductions as well as personal and group training sessions. Although the extra Your PT training sessions will not be included in the usual leisure centre membership, they will be completely optional and Tone's own health and fitness staff will remain in place to assist members with their workouts.

Joel Chapman, Tone's commercial director, explains that the partnership with Your PT means greater choice for members: "We always looking for ways to provide new services for our members and introducing personal training is a great way to expand our offering. Our own staff will still be walking the gym floors, helping people with their workouts and working with them to achieve their goals, all of which continues to be included in our membership fee. But those who want the highly tailored, structured and dedicated approach that comes with having a personal trainer no longer need to look to third parties outside the centre to provide that service.

"As a social enterprise we're committed to 'helping people feel good' in a number of different ways, whether it's by helping older people stay active in their care homes, providing play programmes for children or encouraging active lifestyles in rural areas. The addition of Your PT adds a new dimension to our leisure centre-based services for those that choose to participate, without compromising any of the work our own staff are already doing."

Your PT trainers are all qualified to REPS level three or higher. They are self-employed and work under the Your PT license scheme within partner leisure centres.
