Training your posture with Ciabasan
The theme of this year's BackCare Week was Posture and Surrey-based Healthy Posture introduced a new footware product to coincide with it.
Ciabasan is a heel-less shoe from Italy, regular wearing of which is said to produce a gymnastic effect, improving posture by pushing the pelvic area forward and the shoulders back so that the correct balance is maintained.
This causes the correct posture to be adopted and the musculature of the legs, buttocks, back and head assume a new shape. After regular exercising, this results in the correct stance being maintained after you have removed the shoes.
Ciabasan is also claimed to stimulate both the neural reflexology zones in the foot - amongst these being the heart, lungs, liver, stomach and kidneys - and the lymphatic blood circulation, which improves the pumping capacity of the veins in the legs and can help reduce cellulite.
The shoes are made from wood and black leather and come in small, medium and large sizes.
