The finalists of the UK Active Awards 2025 have been announced today (19 August) following a record number of entries from across the UK’s physical activity sector.

Two new categories have been introduced this year: Independent Club/Centre of the Year and Private Club/Centre of the Year.

The judging process has been led by Proinsight, an independent organisation that has provided honest and objective feedback for each entry. Improvements have been made to both the application and judging process to make the awards as transparent and representative of the sector as possible.

Huw Edwards, CEO of UK Active, says: “The UK Active Awards celebrate the very best of the UK’s physical activity sector, and it is the perfect opportunity to recognise the organisations, programmes and individuals that are behind this success.

“We’re looking forward to recognising the incredible work of our sector on the night and beyond, and we welcome all UK Active members and their teams to come and celebrate our progress together.”

Sponsored by STA, the UK Active Awards ceremony will take place at the ICC in Birmingham on Thursday 30 October and tickets will be on sale shortly. President of STA, Ali Beckman, says: “STA is proud to celebrate all that is great about the physical activity sector – leadership, diversity, excellence, and fresh thinking.”

Everyone Active has had a strong showing, shortlisted across nine categories. Managing director, David Bibby, said: "This recognition is testament to the dedication and hard work of our fantastic colleagues. The shortlisting reflects the brilliant services delivered in our leisure centres, and also the wider community projects and our innovative YOU+ wellness membership.”
