UK rollout for Serenity in the City day spas
Tom's Companies, the group behind The Serenity Spa at Seaham Hall, County Durham, UK, is to open a number of new urban day spas in other UK cities following the launch of its pilot Newcastle site in 2006.
The day spa concept, called Serenity in the City, is a smaller version of the original Serenity Spa, designed by the company's creative director Jocelyn Mayfield. Typically, each spa has seven treatment rooms and a relaxation lounge.
Suppliers include Elemis, ghd spa (for hair treatments) and Leighton Denny Nails.
The next Serenity in the City will open this month on Castle Street in Edinburgh, at a cost of £500,000 (670,300 euro, US$979,600).
The company intends to carry the day spa brand to every major city in the UK in a rollout led by chief executive Debrah Dhugga. The next two spas will be situated in Alderly Edge, Cheshire, and Solihull in the West Midlands.
