Undershaw residential plans approved
Plans to transform the former home of author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle into eight new residential units have been given the go ahead by the local authority.
Waverley Borough Council (WBC) has awarded planning permission and listed building consent for the Undershaw property in Hindhead, Surrey. Campaigners had urged the council to reject the plans in favour of an alternative scheme to restore the property and open it up to the public.
Eight new dwellings are now set to be created at the property, which was the home of Conan Doyle during the time he wrote the famous Sherlock Holmes novel, The Hound of the Baskervilles.
