Visit Surrey officially launches as CIC
Visit Surrey has officially re-launched as a community interest company (CIC) in order to promote businesses, operators and visitor attractions throughout the county.
Originally a partnership organisation, the tourism agency has been forced to form its own company amid budget cuts from the regional body, Tourism South East (TSE). TSE itself has also undergone a restructuring process after funding from the South East England Development Agency was withdrawn.
Funding for the new Visit Surrey CIC has been pledged by a number of local authorities, while Kevin Lorimer of Guildford's Country Club has been appointed as its chair.
