VisitScotland's campaign to attract Russian tourists
VisitScotland has launched a campaign to increase the number of Russian visitors to the country.
In partnership with VisitBritain, the Scottish tourist board is now promoting its first consumer-focused campaign in Russia, primarily to the growing middle class sector.
According to recent research carried out in Russia by the organisation, Scotland is perceived as a welcoming country featuring beautiful landscapes, a peaceful environment and castles.
Its association with tradition, legends and history fascinates Russians, who find Scots to be hearty and full of character.
In a bid to reach the Russian market, VisitScotland published its first brochure in the Russian language last year. The second version will be released later this month.
Two Russians have joined the VisitScotland team to enchance the tourist board’s appreciation of the needs of Russian tourists to Scotland.
Tatiana Danilova has joined the team as the international marketing executive. Yulia Kovanova is the new marketing executive in business tourism. Details: www.visitscotland.com
