Fitness industry leaders, including UK Active CEO Huw Edwards, will take to the stage at Active-net this week to discuss sustainability and decarbonisation in the physical activity sector.

For the first time, key debates from the event will be streamed live and free of charge on the HCMmag.com website.

The livestream – being delivered as part of a partnership between HCM and Active-net – will start at 9.30am on Wednesday 29 March, with leisure-net solutions' Mike Hill, Community Leisure UK's Jennifer Huygen, CIMSPA's Tara Dillon and LATCo's Mark Tweedie joining Edwards in a keynote panel exploring Net Carbon Zero and sustainability.

This will be followed by the first breakout session, focusing on public sector decarbonisation.

Operators and suppliers can watch live here.

David Monkhouse, director of Leisure-net Solutions and Active-net, said: “One of Active-net's fundamental principles is the delivery of continued learning, development and knowledge-sharing.

"We recognise that not all operators will be able to join us this year so we're delighted to provide free access to the keynote panel and breakout session for the first time through our partnership with HCM."

Liz Terry, editor of HCM magazine, said: "HCM has been calling on the physical activity sector to unite and take the lead as a sector in rapidly decarbonising, to reduce emissions, hit our Net Zero Carbon targets and address the industry's energy crisis.

"We're honoured to be working with Active-net to make this livestream available to everyone in the sector free of charge and hope you'll be able to join us to hear the latest thinking on these vital matters."

Livestream delegates earn two CIMSPA CPD points for viewing the sessions.
