Water starts flowing at 2012 canoe venue
Water has started flowing down the course of the new Lee Valley White Water Centre near Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, which is set to stage canoe slalom events at the London Olympics.
The complex, which remains on track for completion later this year, is the first new-build 2012 venue to be completed and will be owned by the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority both before and after the Games. Work is also underway on the internal fit-out of a two-storey facility building as part of the venue, while landscaping works have also commenced. Work on the lakes and competition courses have been completed.
