Sport and leisure management charity Fusion Lifestyle, in partnership with Lewisham Council, have recently unveiled the first phase of an extensive redevelopment at Wavelengths Leisure Centre.

Work began at the popular leisure complex in November last year and is due for completion in March 2013.

Facilities that were revealed during the initial stage of refurbishment include a state-of-the-art 80 station gym with all the latest cardiovascular and resistance equipment and a brand new group exercise studio offering a range of fitness classes for all abilities. These will be followed by a new indoor cycle studio and on site cafe, which are due to open very soon.

The final stages will involve improvements to the swimming pool and changing rooms, creation of an additional group exercise studio, a new health suite with sauna and steam room, plus a soft play zone for children which will complete the transformation of Wavelengths into a modern, purpose built health and fitness centre.

Tim Mills, Fusion's Business Development Director, said: "Having been voted the Health Club of the Year in South London for 2012, this work represents a commitment to redevelop the centre to ensure it caters for the increasing demands of our customers.

"We have been planning this project for some time and are delighted to have the first phase completed for the New Year. The investment we are making at Wavelengths demonstrates our passion for providing modern leisure facilities for Lewisham residents."

Wavelengths Leisure Centre is one of more than 60 centres across the South East of England and Greater London managed by Fusion Lifestyle, and aims to provide quality sports and leisure facilities for all members of the community at accessible prices.
