Welsh garden director resigns
The National Botanic Garden of Wales near Carmarthen, south west Wales, has announced that director Kevin Lamb has resigned from his position with immediate effect.
Lamb was appointed director in 2007 after five years as director of income and visitor operation at the @Bristol science centre, and helped to secure a three-year funding package from the Welsh Assembly Government. He also led the National Botanic Garden of Wales through the final stages of a five-year recovery plan, agreed in 2003 in partnership with the Welsh Assembly Government and Carmarthenshire County Council.
Rob Jolliffe, chair of trustees at the attraction, said: "The Garden is now on a much more sound financial footing. We do, however, understand his reasons for wanting a fresh challenge."
