Winding up order issued to Wrexham FC
Wrexham Football Club (WFC) has announced that it has been handed a winding up order by HM Revenue and Customs over a debt totalling nearly £200,000.
The Blue Square Bet Premier club's current owners have confirmed that they are working to resolve the situation, but admitted cash flow problems were affecting WFC's operation. A WFC spokesperson said: "Currently, our trading debtors and creditors neutralise one another, with the obvious exception of HMRC.
"The HMRC debt is just under £200,000. If the club were able to access a funding pot to clear that debt, then the club's future could be secured at a stroke."
