Work to start on Gosport project
Construction work is set to start on the new Gosport Leisure Park next month.
The project, which will replace the existing Holbrook Recreation Centre, will cost around £6m to complete. Facilities include a 25m swimming pool and a learner pool.
A 70-station gym; a sports hall; and a dance studio will also be among indoor facilities, with one seven-a-side and seven five-a-side floodlit artificial pitches also proposed.
DC Leisure, which will operate the site on behalf Gosport Borough Council, will also develop a 64 room Travelodge and a family friendly pub/restaurant as part of the project.
The facilities are scheduled to open in time for the 2012 Olympic Games.
