YMCA Fitness Industry Training launches new course
YMCA Fitness Industry Training has launched a series of training courses for a new class called Yoga Inspired Fitness.
Developed by Dean Hodgkin, Yoga Inspired Fitness is marketed as a unique exercise concept, based on Hatha Yoga, intended to improve functional strength and dynamic flexibility.
The two-day training course – which is aimed at aerobics teachers, gym instructors and personal trainers – focuses on teaching Yoga Inspired Fitness via a series of static postures which are then built into a flowing sequence which helps to develop a toned and supple body.
Commenting on the new programme, Hodgkin said: “Some fitness enthusiasts find traditional yoga difficult to achieve. This new programme adapts these poses to ensure that they are safe and effective in terms of enhancing core strength.
“Moves are taught carefully within a comfortable range, and postures are then performed in sequence, with a little more tempo than traditional yoga lessons.” Details: +44 (0)20 7343 1850
